Welcome to Anime Angels (version 16), Christian Anime Community!
Please use the menus on the left to view the content on the site. You can learn about Anime Angels, read our Statement of Faith or find out how to become a Christian.
We, of course, have our interactive forums that we'd love you to join and post in. There are sections there for anime, manga and video game reviews, Bible studies and questions, discussions and much more.
Another large part of Anime Angels is our Mangazine, the first Christian Manga (Japanese Comics) Magazine. The mangazine brings together independent Christian manga works along with regular features like Anime/Manga tutorials, Bible studies, articles about the anime world from a Christian point of view, and gaming and anime reviews.
There is even a Convention Ministry portion of Anime Angels that hold panels and church services at anime conventions across the country that you can volunteer for.
We also have online "adoptions" for you, an art gallery and our very own merchandise.
Finally, if you have trouble using the site, stop in to the Troubleshooting forum on the message board for help.
So please sign up and join our community. Registration is free and easy! (If you were a member on any of our older site versions and suddenly find that you can't log in, you will need to sign up again for a new account.)
Before you decide to join, though, we now have a policy for inactive accounts. At the beginning of every month, we'll be going through the user database and deleting any account that is more than a month old and has no posts on the forums. In other words, if you're going to sign up then we want you to actually post something there! Please don't be afraid, then, to sign up and join in our discussions. |

| Double-check your e-mail address! |

Hello, all. This is mostly for people who are wanting to sign up for our forums, but it applies to our already-existing users as well.
When you first register your account -- that is, when you fill out the registration form and click "Submit" -- a page shows up saying that one of us staffers must review and activate your account before you start posting. Once we get around to doing that, you should get an e-mail saying that you're good to start posting.
But, it's happened a couple of times now that after I've activated a new user's account, I got an e-mail from the mail delivery system saying that the e-mail address of the user in question doesn't exist and that the notification e-mail has been returned to me -- and I have no other way of notifying that user that s/he has been activated. ^_^;
So, whether you're an existing user or one who is just ready to sign up with us, I ask only that you please double-check the e-mail address in your registration form before sending it off (for new users) or in your profile (for existing users) to make sure that it's spelled correctly.
Thank you in advance; this will make it tons easier on everybody.  |

| Monthly inactive member purge |

With the permission of Keely and Nicole, I've started a new practice to help keep the site and forums running at their best. At the beginning of each month, I'm going to be going through the member list and purging it of any accounts that are more than a month old and reports zero posts made. (Unless I happen to know you, in which case your account is safe -- but I still encourage you to come post something so it doesn't look bad.  ) So, if you made an account more than a month ago, haven't yet posted but still wish to come post something, chances are very high that you'll have to recreate your account first.
I've also made a small change to the custom user profile fields. Now, when you register an account, instead of choosing "Yes" from a dropdown box asking if you're human, there is now a text input box asking you to type "I am human" which cannot be left empty. This is to further help keep spambots from trying to create bogus accounts, but it requires only a minimum of effort on your part when you register. (To existing members: You can go ahead and type it into to your profiles if you want for the sake of consistency, but you don't have to unless you need to update your profile.)
Until we see you again on the boards, keep singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord! ^_^

| Doing upgrades? Have hack, will fix! |

The staff and I want to give our sincerest apologies to you all for the site (read as "forums") being mostly non-functional this past weekend. Our host decided to upgrade its server's version of MySQL from 4 to 5, but this version of the Invision Power Board software wasn't designed to handle anything beyond MySQL 4. Thanks to Keely's research, though, I was able to install a hack -- and with some trial and error it now looks like everything's working again!  If you find any more bugs, though, please let us know about it so we can try to fix it.
While I'm at it, I wish you all our Lord's finest blessings this Christmas and even finer blessings for the new year to come! ^_^ |

AngelofDarkness01 suggested we have people dedicated to reviewing anime. After much discussion we (mods and admins) decided this was an excellent idea. So now we have people dedicated to reviewing anime you want to see!
Our current Official Review Squad is made up of myself, angelofdarkness01, and rocklobster. 
The primary purpose of Official Reviews is to give younger members (or people new to anime) a reliable--but friendly-- adult Christian perspective on anime they're interested in. We, basically, are here to help you find out what's worth buying and to avoid the pain of watching bad anime (whether because of it's content or just shoddy quality).

| Art Contest Needs Help! |

It's long over-due but you'll be happy to know a new Art Contest is in the works. This year we have some great prizes too! Copic markers, inking pens, manga paper (yes, REAL manga paper!), tones, and pre-drawn backgrounds. All bought from Japan!
There's just one teeny little problem. If we want super awesome prizes, it'll cost almost 200$. As you can imagine, I just don't have 200$ lying around that I can devote to prizes. So if I have to pay out of my pocket for the prizes, I'll have to cut back substantially. Bummer. 
There is a solution to this dilemma: YOU.

The long awaited ( ) release is now out! Yes, it was very convenient that the time I finally got the new issue done, we got hacked. Well, that is fine though. We are through that and so this is an extra special treat. Now, I have it up on Lulu.com (http://www.lulu.com/content/1335147) but I am still awaiting a4c to get the colored PDF version uploaded to his website. So if you are one of those who downloads the PDF and prefer the color (I know I do ^_^), then please, hang on till he gets that done. Thanks.
