It’s possible that these evil anime characters are hell-bent on dominating the world, have the means and motivation to exact revenge, or don’t know how to deal with a failed relationship.

I asked around, and these are some of the most popular villainous characters from anime currently gripping us all. When it comes to anime, the villains seem to stick with you more than the heroes themselves after a while.

Majin Buu is unlike other anime villains with something sinister about them or whose past has been twisted for some sinister purpose. Instead, he is just your typical washed-up villain with a lot of power who constantly tries to kill everyone.

He’s joking; all he did was raise his arm in the air while he said something funny, and then billions of people actually died.

23. Shou Tucker from Fullmetal Alchemist

Shou Tucker, an alchemist who didn’t kill anyone, is one of the most detested anime villains of all time. So, why is he on this list?

He had to transform his adorable daughter Nina and her equally adorable dog into a chimera, combining them into one hideous, pitiful monster, to fulfill his research obligation and keep his alchemical grant money coming in.

Fans will weep as they watch this horrifying scene, which is one of the saddest and most traumatizing moments in anime history! Although he didn’t kill anyone, he had a significant emotional impact on Fullmetal Alchemist viewers.

21. Shiro from Deadman Wonderland

This show is all about imprisoned anime villains, some of whom you might expect to have done bad things, so if you like anime series with bad characters, this is a good choice for you.

One of the latter is Shiro; at first, she was a sweet little girl who just wanted to have fun with her best friend, Ganta. However, after years of excruciating torture, Shiro developed a second personality that is called The Wretched Egg, even though it is still pretty awful. Shiro is one of the latter.

Ganta and his classmates are on a field trip when the Wretched Egg raids the prison, killing many of their classmates and leaving Ganta alone. Because Ganta is still alive, he is blamed for everything that happened.

20. Kabuto Yakushi from Naruto

20. Kabuto Yakushi from Naruto

There are a lot of evil characters in the anime who switch sides, but Kabuto just seems to get overlooked. This trope is so well-used in the show that it should be renamed “Naruto: Good Ninja Gone Bad.” It is hard not to mention the Naruto series when it comes to characters who tend to switch sides.

Kabuto was just an orphan with a promising scientific brain talent who Orochimaru noticed and decided to raise. He became a criminal because one of the only adults who ever really cared about him manipulated his feelings. Given Orochimaru’s plans to chase kids in the pursuit of immortality, you might expect that anyone on his side is pretty evil and all kinds of scary. On the other hand, Kabuto was just an orphan with a promising scientific brain talent.

17. Zagred from Black Clover

17. Zagred from Black Clover

Zagread, the antagonist of Black Clover, is taking viewers on a terrifying journey; despite the terrifying demonic character design, his power makes him even more terrifying.

Zagred is one of the most powerful villains on the show, and he has also been responsible for mass destruction and genocide. He is the mastermind behind the creation of Licht’s five-leaf clover grimoire and the massacre & reincarnation of elves. I love shows that have a certain fantasy-themed element, and when I was introduced to him, it was hard not to be immediately engrossed.

15. The Beast Titan from Attack On Titan

15. The Beast Titan from Attack On Titan

Zeke, who is using the Beast Titan and probably presents himself as a lovable guy with a nice personality who enjoys being calm most of the time, takes on the form of an animal-like humanoid and is larger than most other Titans.

Although he is a formidable anime villain, his greatest threat comes from his intelligence. He is a strategist who is able to orchestrate long-term events and is willing to ruthlessly cut down anyone who gets in the way of his ambitions. However, this façade is fake and conceals his calculating, Machiavellian tendencies, which he fully displays in battle.

14. Shougo Makishima from Psycho-Pass

14. Shougo Makishima from Psycho-Pass

The main team sets out to capture Makishima, but it turns out that it is so difficult to do so against such a formidable foe that he is definitely well-deserved for this spot on this list of the best anime villains of all time because he was a key part of the story in Psycho-Pass and is the antagonist that won over fans’ hearts.

He is also quite intriguing, and people end up getting a kick out of trying to anticipate what he might do next. His fight against Kougami is one of the most chilling moments in anime. He always manages to stay a few steps ahead of the police, and they are unaware of his plans.

Major, who prefers to be known as Montana Max, is the antagonist in the manga and anime series Hellsing. He was the supreme commander of Millenium, an organization that aims to cause global chaos through war.

12. Frieza from Dragon Ball

Frieza is the antagonist of the Dragon Ball anime series and one of Goku’s most formidable foes. He has also appeared in other parts of the series. Frieza is known as one of the most ruthless anime villains with a penchant for violence. The ruthlessness of his army is described throughout the galaxy, and his dark humor has a tendency to force his adversaries into submission.

11. Doflamingo from One Piece

11. Doflamingo from One Piece

One of the best villains in the One Piece anime and manga is Doflamingo. This evil anime character is sure to cause a stir because he uses dramatic language and poses in an exaggerated way when making statements.

In the Shichibukai meeting, he also mocks Fleet Admiral Sengoku openly and shows a level of enthusiasm for a war with Whitebeard.

Before he became a criminal, Doflamingo had unusual personality traits like the habit of sitting in odd positions on chairs, tables, barrels, and even walls. He also had sadistic tendencies when dealing with other people, making him one of the most memorable anime villains ever.

10. Izaya from Durarara

10. Izaya from Durarara

Izaya is the antagonist of Durarara!!, one of Amphisbaena’s founders and a Dollars member. He is a skilled and powerful information broker who usually shares information for his own pleasure and claims to love everyone except Shizuo.

9. Muzan from Demon Slayer

9. Muzan from Demon Slayer

Muzan Kibutsuji is the main antagonist of the Demon Slayer anime series. He is colder, less caring, and smarter than any other demon. Although he is typically portrayed as distant and uninteresting, he occasionally exhibits emotion when compelled to do so.

Although he appears calm and collected on the outside, he is emotionally unstable and is prone to overreacting when things don’t go as planned. He has such a high self-esteem that he can kill his subordinates too harshly if they make mistakes.

8. Tomura Shikaragi from My Hero Academia

8. Tomura Shikaragi from My Hero Academia

This show has too many anime villains, from Stain to All For One. They are all very popular, just like the heroes. But Shikaragi Tomura, one of the most interesting dark characters in the series, will get most of the attention.

Izuku Midoriya’s dark reflection, Tomura is thought to be the kind of person who doesn’t see anything wrong with going too far in his evil pursuits and doesn’t care about anyone’s life. He doesn’t hesitate to commit evil acts like killing innocent people.

7. Dio Brando from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure

The most well-known character in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is Dio Brando, who has been around since the beginning and possesses an overpowered Stand power that is referred to as “The World.” This makes Jojo Bizare an anime series that does not require any promotion at all. 6. Light Yagami from Death Note

Light Yagami is portrayed as a typical teenage boy at the beginning of Death Note. He is intrigued by the notebook he eventually acquires, which allows him to kill people whose names are written down. He is initially reluctant to use the notebook, but as the series progresses, he becomes increasingly morally corrupted as a result of its influence.

But he quickly decides to kill criminals because he thinks doing so will make the world better. However, Light started doing unjust things soon after. 5. Griffith from Berserk

5. Griffith from Berserk

It can be difficult for you when your best friend leaves you, and it’s even more difficult when that person leaves a group that is a part of your work—Griffith probably had a lot to say about this!

How bad is it?

Griffith is a terrible man, and his lack of mercy outweighs the fact that he is an absolute disaster, making him one of the worst anime villains ever seen in history. He has already sacrificed the rest of his band to become a powerful demon named the God Hand after Guts has returned to rescue him multiple times. The first thing he did was rape Guts’ pregnant lover Casca right in front of him. This scene is so horrifying that it will make Guts explode with rage. Griffith

4. Aizen from Bleach

4. Aizen from Bleach

From the outside, you can tell that Ssuke Aizen is a nice guy who can be dedicated to Soul Society but is also a stickler for rules. However, rules cannot make someone evil. Many people did not know about Ssuke Aizen’s evil nature in Bleach before he revealed it to everyone else. His character develops as they discover this bad side of him as well.

He actually is here to destroy Soul Society, but not directly! His plan is set in motion when he fakes his own death, implicating the newest members of Soul Society as the top suspects for his murder. Yes, the whole persona thing was just a cover, but it didn’t work.

3.  Johan Liebert from Monster

3.  Johan Liebert from Monster

One of the most vile anime villains I’ve ever seen is Johan Liebert, a serial killer who would make Hannibal Lector look at him and think, “Whoa.”

After the surgery, he really got busy killing people. He was sort of a leader for Europe’s serial killers, who did his bidding even as he occasionally killed them. He also killed the coworkers of the surgeon who saved his life. He even managed to talk all of the students and instructors of a secretive Army program into killing everyone else!

When people ask you to be Hitler 2,0, you know you’re a bad guy because he is so evil and murderous that a Neo-Nazi party tried to get him to become the new Adolf Hitler. This wasn’t Johan’s style, so he killed most of them to get them to leave him alone.

2. Hisoka from Hunter X Hunter

2. Hisoka from Hunter X Hunter

He has been a feared assassin who has never failed to carry out his missions and is ranked as one of the strongest people in this world because he has killed many powerful characters. Hisoka is a crazy man who has never experienced fear, and he has taken pride in that fact.

He is one of the greatest anime villains ever and a man shrouded in mystery, but the truth seems to be that he is just a sadistic character. His story is interesting because this psychopath anime character enjoys his crimes. With his evil persona and dark behavior, it is difficult to predict what he will do next.

1. Madara Uchiha from Naurto Shippuden

1. Madara Uchiha from Naurto Shippuden

One of the most well-known and successful anime villains, Madara Uchiha is overpowered, cruel, and has a macabre sense of humor that makes him even more badass in the Naruto series.

Madara Uchiha can be extremely egotistical, dismissive of those he believes to be weaker, and cutthroat. His desire for power takes precedence over any moral considerations, and he is willing to do anything to achieve it. What makes him pure evil is that he refuses to admit guilt for the harm he did to Obito Uchiha, others, or the people he killed.
